Migrating from Linktree without losing the traffic you already have
A bio page is a list you can read, so there is nothing to export. The part people get wrong is the order — rebuild, redirect, then change the bios, and never delete first.

There is no export button and you do not need one. Your bio page is a list of destinations with labels on them, and you can read all of it from a browser. That makes this the easiest migration in the category and the one people most often break, because the difficulty is entirely in the order of operations.
Copy it out first, and audit while you copy
Open the page. Write down every destination and its button text, in order.
Then click each one. In every list we have migrated, between two and five links were already dead — a product page retired, a form closed, an event from two years ago. Copying by hand is the only step where you are guaranteed to notice, which is why doing it by hand is worth the five minutes.
While you are there, decide what should not come across. A bio page with fourteen buttons is a page nobody reads to the bottom. The ones that matter are the first three.
Mock it up before you claim anything
The layout question — how many buttons, what order, which theme — is easier to answer by looking at it than by imagining it. Type your links into the preview, see the phone mock-up in each theme, and rearrange until the first three are the ones you would want a stranger to tap.

Open the full toolThen claim the name
Names of five characters or more are free and instant. Shorter ones are priced by length.
The name is one registry across our products, so it is both gc.mw/@yourname for the page and, on Pro, a
yourname.gc.mw namespace for short links. Pick the one you would say out loud on a podcast, not the one
that is closest to a keyword.
The order that keeps your traffic
Build the new page completely
Every block, the photo, the bio text, the theme. Finish it before anyone can see it in a bio.
Turn the old page into a redirect
Replace every button on your Linktree with one button pointing at gc.mw/@yourname. Anyone arriving from an old screenshot, a printed card or an unedited bio lands somewhere useful.
Change the bios one platform at a time
Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, your email signature. One a day is fine; there is no benefit to doing them all in an hour.
Watch the referrer breakdown for a month
Your new page records where its visitors came from. When the old domain stops appearing in that list, nobody is arriving through the old page any more.
Only then delete the old page
Not before. A deleted bio page is a dead link in every screenshot anyone ever took of your profile.
What you gain that a bio tool does not have
Every link on the page is a real short link with its own analytics, so you can see which button earns its place rather than only how many people saw the page. That is the difference between "the page got 4,000 views" and "the second button got 40 taps and the fourth got 3, and the fourth is the one you cared about".
The page also carries a contact card. gc.mw/@name.vcf downloads a vCard, and gc.mw/@name.qr is a QR code
for the page — which means the same identity works on a printed business card, not just in an app bio.
| Thing | Moves? |
|---|---|
| Destinations and labels | Yes, by copying — five minutes |
| Layout and theme | No; rebuild it, and take the chance to cut buttons |
| Click history | No; screenshot what matters before you cancel |
| Your handle | Only if the name is free here; check before you plan |
| Followers' bookmarks | Yes, if you redirect the old page instead of deleting it |
The one thing worth being slow about
Do not cancel the paid Linktree subscription the day you finish. Downgrade if you can, keep the redirect page alive, and give it a month. The cost of one more month is small; the cost of a dead link in ten thousand screenshots is not.
For the page itself — themes, blocks, the vCard and the QR — see link in bio.
Questions people ask
Can I import my Linktree automatically?
There is nothing to import. A bio page is a list of destinations and button labels, all of which are visible on your own page. Twenty links takes about five minutes to copy by hand, and copying by hand is when you notice the four that are dead.
Will I lose my existing followers' bookmarks?
Only if you delete the old page. Keep it alive and replace every button on it with one link to your new page, so anyone arriving from an old screenshot or an unedited bio is forwarded rather than stranded.
Do I have to pay for a name?
Not for names of five characters or more, which are claimed instantly and free. Shorter names are priced by length, because there are only so many of them.
What happens to my click history?
It stays with Linktree. Screenshot what matters before you stop paying. New pages start at zero, and the two sets of numbers would not be comparable anyway.
How much does this actually save?
Linktree's Pro tier is 15 USD a month, listed at 12 USD a month billed annually, and rose from 9 to 15 USD in November 2025, as of September 2026. Our Pro is 15 USD a month and includes the bio page, short links and a digital business card together, so the comparison depends on whether you need those other things.
