Terms of service for gc.mw links and accounts

The agreement for using gc.mw: what the service does, what a plan includes, when links expire, how billing works, and when an account or a link can be stopped.

By Wasim Idrishi · Updated · 6 min read

gc.mw is operated by Growcord. The registered entity name, address, governing law and dispute forum are being confirmed and will appear here before this page is published. Using the service — with or without an account — means accepting these terms and the acceptable use policy.

What the service does

gc.mw turns a long URL into a short one and forwards visitors to it, generates QR codes for those links, hosts a bio page and a digital business card at a name you claim, records analytics about the traffic, and exposes all of it over an API. What we do with the data that produces is set out in the privacy policy.

We do not host your destination. If the page at the other end of a link goes away, changes or misbehaves, that is between you and whoever runs it.

Accounts

You may create a link without an account. Anything beyond that — editing a destination, analytics, custom aliases, domains, pages, the API — needs one.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what your team members do and what anything holding your API key does. Keep the password and the keys to yourself; an API key is shown once at creation and stored only as a hash, so we cannot recover it for you and you should rotate it if it leaks. Two-factor authentication is available and we recommend it for any account that can change a destination.

One person per account. Accounts are not shared or transferred between people; a workspace holds the team.

Plans, prices and payment

Plans and prices are shown on the pricing page, which is the authority. As of September 2026 the India price book is Pro at ₹499 a month, Business at ₹999 and Team at ₹1,999 plus seats; the international book is billed in US dollars. Prices in the India book are inclusive of GST. There is no free trial by default.

Your price book is set by your billing country, and it is locked once billing starts so an invoice history stays in one currency. Payments are taken by Razorpay; we never see or store your card details. What we store is the payment provider's customer and subscription identifiers, the reference for the last payment, a billing country and, where you supply one for tax invoices, a GSTIN.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period already paid for. Paid-for one-time purchases — a claimed name, a premium code, a lifetime link — are not refundable once issued, because they take something out of a finite namespace.

Plan limits are enforced as you use the service: links created per month, seats, bio pages, custom domains and API calls per day. Exceeding a limit stops the action and offers an upgrade; it does not silently degrade what you already have. If we change prices we will tell account holders by email before the change applies to their renewal.

A short code identifies a link and is unique on its domain, case-insensitively. Codes that have been used and retired are never reissued to anyone else.

Custom aliases and claimed names may not impersonate someone else. A reserved-word list protects the service's own paths, and a brand-protection list holds back names that exist mainly to be abused — payment providers, banks, government services and large platforms. We can refuse or reclaim an alias or a name that impersonates a brand or a person, and we do this without waiting for a complaint when the intent is obvious.

Link lifetimes as of September 2026: 30 days for a link created without an account, 365 days for a link in a Free workspace, and no expiry on Pro, Business and Team unless you set one. You can always set a shorter expiry or a click limit yourself.

You keep ownership of your destinations, your content and your data. You grant us only what is needed to run the service: to store your links, serve the redirect, render your pages, and produce your analytics.

Availability

We aim to keep redirects up continuously and treat a redirect outage as the most serious kind of incident, because a broken link is broken everywhere it was ever printed. We do not offer a service level agreement with credits on any published plan. Scheduled maintenance is announced where it will be visible.

If the service is unavailable, the remedy is a refund of the affected period at most.

Suspension and termination

We can disable a link that fails a safety check or accumulates independent reports, and we can suspend a workspace that is used for abuse. How that works, and how a decision is reversed, is set out in the abuse policy.

You can close your account at any time. Deleting a workspace removes its links and pages; short links that were in circulation stop working, which is the consequence of deletion and not something we can undo.

We may end this agreement with notice if you break these terms or the acceptable use policy, if payment fails after our attempts to collect, or if we stop operating the service — in which case we will give as much notice as we practically can and keep exports working until the end.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue or indirect loss. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.

Two exclusions worth stating plainly, because they surprise people: we are not liable for what a destination you linked to does to a visitor, and we are not liable for a link that stops working because a domain you own expired or its DNS changed.

Changes to these terms

We will announce material changes by email to account holders before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the service after that date means accepting the new version.

Questions people ask

Do my links expire?

A link made without an account expires 30 days after it is created. A link in a Free workspace expires 365 days after it is created. On Pro, Business and Team, links do not expire unless you set an expiry yourself. Check the pricing page for the current figures.

What happens to my links if I stop paying?

The workspace falls back to Free entitlements. Existing links keep redirecting; the plan-only features stop, the analytics window shortens, and the Free link lifetime applies to links created after that point. We do not delete a paying customer's links for non-payment.

Can I take my links elsewhere?

Yes. Export every link with its destination as CSV or over the API on any paid plan. If the links are on your own domain, re-point the DNS and they can be served by another provider — that is the point of a custom domain.
